Charles Musonda (born 15 October 1996), known as Charly Musonda or Charly Musonda Junior, is a Belgian footballer for Premier League side Chelsea. Mainly an attacking midfielder, he can also play as a winger. Charles' father is Zambian football player Charly Musonda, Sr. who played in the eighties and nineties.
Club career[]
Musonda began his career at KRC Genk, before joining RSC Anderlecht. In Belgium he was able to proof his talent and a lot of clubs were interested on signing him. So he joined Chelsea F.C. 2012 in England, alongside his brothers. He played with Chelsea in 2013-14 and 2014-15 in the Youth League. In March 2015 he extended his contract with the London club until 2019. After he never got a call up from the first squad, he went on joining spanish club Real Betis on a season long loan-deal. There he made on the 7th February 2016 his professional debut, against Valencia CF, where he played since the beginning. A week later, he scored in a entertaining draw to Deportivo La Coruña, his first official goal on club level, per heading the ball.
